Description:
|
This query permits the identification of the top 100 out of 23,000 genes that reveal the greatest similarities in the patterns of gene expression in 6000 diverse human organ, tissue and cell specimens with a target gene of interest. If two proteins are almost always present at the same places and times in the human body, they probably require each other for full function. Genes that reveal a high incidence of co-regulation, reflected with a high Interaction Score, are likely to be functionally-connected and may even physically interact in protein complexes. Proteins that are tightly bound within a stable protein complex are considered part of its quaternary structure. Proteins that form weak and transient quinternary complexes may also be potentially identified from these analyses.
